Abstract

Anxiety can negatively affectstudent learning at various levels, ranging fromcognitive abilities to behavior and motivation. This research aims to analyze the condition of academic anxiety among 12th-grade students at Senior High School Al Muhafizhoh Blitar and to examine the implementation of Guidance and Counseling (GC) services based on Islamic values in overcoming it. Academic anxiety in 12th-grade students was found to be at a moderate to high intensity, primarily triggered by high parental expectations regarding State University Entrance Selection (PTN) results and insufficient preparation for the Academic Competence Test (TKA). This anxiety is manifested in physical symptoms such as stomach aches, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, and avoidance behavior towards learning. The expected outcome of this research is an article that serves as a practical reference, providing insights and concrete strategies for Guidance and Counseling (GC) teachers in delivering counseling services based on Islamic values in schools.This study uses a qualitative descriptive analytic approach with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and subjects were selected through purposive sampling. The results indicate that the implementation of Guidance and Counseling integrates the concepts of Tawakal and Spiritual Therapy (Dzikir, Tahajud and Dhuha prayers, and reciting the Holy Qur'an) as an effective coping mechanism. Spiritual therapy is believed to be capable of relieving anxiety and stabilizing the nafs (soul), as well as fostering a spiritual connection. The concept of Tawakal is taught as a form of Cognitive Restructuring to change dysfunctional thought patterns into constructive, faith-based alternatives. Overall, the GC services based on Islamic values successfully strengthened students' psychological resilience, provided a sense of security, and self-motivation to face academic anxiety.
