Peran Keteladanan Islami Pendidik dalam Pembentukan Karakter di Era Digital

Entering the digital era, technology provides broad access to knowledge and learning innovation; however, it also poses challenges such as moral degradation, the decline of digital etiquette, and the erosion of respectful behavior in educational interactions. Social media often becomes an uncontrolled space where students are easily influenced by content that contradicts religious and cultural values. These issues indicate that knowledge alone is insufficient to shape students’ character, as the learning process tends to focus more on cognitive aspects than on moral and character development. Therefore, educators are required to play an active role as primary role models in instilling religious values and building students’ spiritual character. This study employs a library research approach to collect data from various academic sources. The findings reveal that the exemplary behavior of educators serves as a moral safeguard and an effective means of guiding students to use technology wisely based on Islamic values. Through Islamic role modeling, Islamic education is expected to nurture a generation that is intellectually capable, morally upright, socially conscious, and firmly faithful to Allah SWT.
