Implementasi Deep Learning untuk Meningkatkan Karakter Religius dalam Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam

The rapid transformation of education in the digital era requires pedagogical approaches that emphasize reflection, meaning-making, and value internalization. Deep learning, as a learning paradigm, focuses on developing students’ conceptual understanding, critical reflection, and ability to apply knowledge to authentic contexts. This study explores the implementation of deep learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and its potential to strengthen students’ religious character in Indonesian schools. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through library research, the study synthesizes empirical findings from national and international literature. The results reveal that deep learning not only enhances cognitive understanding of Islamic teachings but also deepens spiritual awareness and moral reasoning through reflective, project-based, and contextual learning. The integration of deep learning principles with Islamic pedagogy provides a holistic framework for cultivating religiosity and ethical behavior in the digital age.
