Abstract

Aqidah and akhlak play a fundamental role in shaping the moral ethos of students, especially in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Negeri 1 Sragi. Through an integrated learning approach, the values of aqidah and akhlak are instilled as the foundation of students' character. This approach not only involves understanding religious teachings theoretically but also applying them in daily behavior. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, documentation, and document analysis. The qualitative method is used because this study emphasizes a deep understanding of the process of shaping the moral ethos of students. The main focus is on the eighth grade, with an experienced IRE teacher as the informant. The results of the study indicate that a personal approach to students is the most effective method of delivering religious and moral education material, as it creates emotional closeness between teachers and students and increases student attention and participation in learning. Learning evaluation is not only conducted through cognitive tests, but also through observation of students' attitudes and worship practices, which shows a significant difference between students who understand religious values and those who do not. Classroom environment factors, differences in student character, and parental involvement also influence learning success. To that end, the school implements a collaborative policy that involves other teachers, homeroom teachers, and parents so that moral guidance can be carried out in an integrated and sustainable manner. This effort is a real contribution to the development of character-based Islamic education in schools. Therefore, it is necessary to emphasize the importance of faith and morals as the basis for strengthening students' character and the urgency of synergy among all parties in its implementation.
